CHILDREN’S MINISTRY COORDINATOR

We are seeking up to four Part-Time Children’s Ministry Coordinators to lead, plan, and execute the Life Kids ministry at Life Center Church. Coordinators would serve children and their families in the toddler room (ages 1-2), lower room (ages 3-7), and/or upper room (ages 7 -11).
As the Children’s Ministry Coordinator you will be responsible for implementing a Christ-centered Sunday school program that is holistic, transcending church life and impacting home life as well. Your goal will be to nurture and disciple the children and families of LCCNYC. The Children’s Ministry Coordinator will help execute the mission of LCCNYC by:
Developing a robust children’s Sunday school program to meet the needs of our growing population of young children and families.
Recruiting, training, and managing children’s ministry volunteer teams to execute the program during our Sunday Service and at various church events.
Planning family community-building initiatives such as special events that are both internally focused for current families and externally facing to reach new families in the neighborhood.
Investing regularly into church families to connect with them, understand their values, and to champion them as they seek to nurture and disciple their children.
key RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing a robust children’s Sunday school program.
Establishing a children’s ministry culture where children experience the love and power of God and grow in their knowledge and understanding of Jesus.
Building upon our current Bible Quest curriculum to execute a dynamic and engaging Sunday experience where kids are engaged and growing in their knowledge of the Word, the fruits of the Spirit, and the spiritual gifts.
Researching and sourcing all classroom materials and supplies to deliver a program that volunteer leaders can execute and overseeing all expenditures and budgets for the toddler and lower room.
Recruiting, training, and managing Children’s Ministry volunteer teams
Developing leaders with a vision for children’s spiritual development and an expectation of the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in class and at home.
Providing training for new volunteers and additional training every quarter to equip and empower volunteers.
Planning family community-building initiatives to enrich the lives of current families and reach new families in the community.
Internal events. (Ex: Children's Christmas or Easter productions, family retreats, etc.)
External events. (Ex: Vacation Bible School, theater productions designed to reach the parents of Fidi and surrounding neighborhoods, etc.)
weekly time COMMITMENT
2 - 8 hours each week (Estimated at 20 hours a month)
COMPENSIONATION
$25 per hour to be paid monthly
QUALIFICATIONS
A passion and calling to disciple children and minister to families.
Previous experience in children's ministry or educational settings.
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills.
History of operating as part of a church family based on a culture of honor.
Always seeking to help. Esteems others as greater than themselves.
A teachable heart and a sincere pursuit of holiness.
Ability to work well within a team and with volunteers.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Basic knowledge of first aid and child safety procedures.
Availability to work Sundays and occasional evenings or weekends for special events.
